a contemporary Town garden

Designed to compliment the modern architecture of a new build , this garden marries contemporary paving with soft block planting of grasses. Evergreen hedging and groundcover plants provide year round interest.

In the front garden ample car parking space is softened by a large bed of multi stem Silver Birch. These are underplanted with blocks of Yew and groundcover Persicaria affinis for a splash of colour from May to October. A generous flight of steps lead down to the gravel driveway, these are made from outsize concrete slabs made by the Dutch company Schellevis.

The secluded back garden has split level patios with a backdrop of woodland trees. The dark paving continues from the front garden to give continuity. A simple planting scheme of the grasses Miscanthus sinensis ‘Silberfeder’ and Hakonechloa macra provide architectural height whilst Liriope muscari and Sarcococca provide an evergreen backdrop.
