Jesmond Canal garden
The focus of this site in Jesmond is a broad canal that spans the width of the garden. The main crossing is a spectacular corten flying carpet bridge flanked either side by a traditional hardwood timber bridge and a set of long stepping stones.
The planting scheme has a backbone of Yew balls and Box, punctuated by grasses such as Stipa gigantia and colourful perennials Phlomis, Persicaria and Sedum ‘Autumn Joy’
Hard landscaping materials include ‘Harvest’ sawn sandstone, grey clay pavers and self binding gravel.
